About Bentley University

Bentley University is a private co-educational university located in Waltham, which is a city in Middlesex County, in the US state of Massachusetts, with a population estimated at a number of more than 59 000 inhabitants, during the 2000 census. Waltham is also known as Watch City, nickname which was given due to the city's association with the watch industry.

Bentley University first started as Bentley School of Accounting and Finance, being founded in 1917, by Harry C. Bentley, who served as the school's president until 1953. The institution was originally located on Boylston Street, in Boston, being moved to its present location, by President Morison, around 1961, when it was accredited to confer four-year Bachelor of Science degrees. The institution's current name was adopted in 2008, after being authorized by the state board of higher education to do so.

Athletics

Bentley's athletic teams are known as the Falcons, who compete in 23 men's and women's varsity sports, in NCAA Division II, except for men's hockey, in which they compete in Division I. Their mascot is ''Flex the Falcon'', and their distinctive colors are blue and gold.
